What impact has the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) had on the victims of Domestic violence? Ohio has started to see the fall-out of this amendment passed in 2004, with the presence of unmarried victims of Domestic Violence not getting the resources granted to married victims. In Virginia, this amendment will be on the ballot in November. On September 19, 2006 there will be speakers from Domestic Violence agencies discussing this amendment with the public (see link below).
