Hamilton Family 2

Police found Colette Hamilton, 4, and her brother Cortez Hamilton Jr., 4 months (left), and arrested the children's father, Cortez Hamilton Sr., 32 (right inset). The children's mother, Keisha Hamilton, 35 (right), was still being sought Sunday. Delaware State Police / Indiana State Police

Tonight…prayers are needed for Keisha and her family!

Please share this information that has been compiled from the different sources below, and send out the pictures to everyone you know!  By sharing the information, hopefully it’ll reach someone that saw or knows something!  These children and their family deserve and need to know where their Mother is and what’s happened to her!

Where they were found was a 12-hour drive away…with 2 small children they had to stop for food…they had to stop for gas…they had to stop for potty breaks…they had to stop somewhere!!  There has to be surveillance tapes available along their route!  It doesn’t matter how small of information or siting you may have had, it may be significant to the police!  It may be a piece of the puzzle that the police may need to fit in to answer the questions they have!  Please, if you have ANY information about this, please call it in!

For these children and their family, please help them fit the pieces of the puzzle that has put their lives in chaos…

Colette and her brother Cortez Jr. were reported missing along with their mother 35-year-old Keisha Hamilton after they were last seen around 10:00 p.m. Friday.

Police believed they were in imminent danger and with their father Cortez Hamilton Sr.

Police have rescinded an Amber Alert for two missing Smynra, Del. children after they were found safe in southwestern Indiana.

Colette Hamilton, 4, and her brother Cortez Hamilton Jr., 4 months, were found traveling on Interstate 64 in a red Chevrolet Suburban driven by their father, 32-year-old Cortez Hamilton Sr., according to investigators.

Troopers in Warrick County, Ind. pulled the vehicle over around 7:30 p.m. Saturday after receiving a tip from Delaware authorities that the family might have been driving on the highway to St. Louis, Mo., Indiana State Police said in a news release.

Also unknown is where Cortez Hamilton, Sr., was headed with the children. The distance from Smyrna to Evansville, Indiana, where Hamilton is now being held is about 825 miles — or a more-than-12 hour drive.

One report stated that the search for Hamilton and the two children may have extended to Kentucky, before the dad and kids were stopped in Indiana. But what reason Hamilton would have had for traveling to or through Kentucky was not clear.

Action News has learned that Keisha Hamilton is from Chester, Delaware County and Cortez Hamilton Sr. is an army veteran who listed himself as a professional body builder online.

He's originally from St. Louis, Missouri which is where police say he was headed. He still has family in that area.

Delaware investigators searching for Keisha Hamilton visited the family’s home on East Cayhill Lane in Smyrna and, though they did not find the missing mom, they removed several bags of evidence and reported that the condition of the property appeared to show “suspicious circumstances.”

Authorities arrested Cortez Hamilton Sr. on three warrants out of Delaware charging him with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of second-degree assault with serious bodily injury, police said.

More information about what prompted those charges was not immediately available. State police detectives in Delaware and Indiana were continuing to investigate.

Hamilton Sr. was imprisoned in the Warrick County Jail, where he was awaiting extradition to Delaware Sunday.

Troopers said Tuesday that Cortez A. Hamilton had waived an extradition hearing in Indiana and will be returned to Delaware, however when that will happen was not released.

Colette and Cortez Hamilton Jr. were placed in the custody of the Warrick County Division of Child Services, police said.

Their mother, 35-year-old Keisha Hamilton, who was initially believed to be traveling with them, remained missing.

Keisha-Hamilton

She was last seen with the two children around 10 p.m. Friday at their home on the 100 block of East Cayhill Lane in the Twin Willows development of Smyrna, according to investigators.

Delaware State Police issued a Gold Alert for Keisha Hamilton after the children were found, saying authorities were unable to contact her and were concerned for her safety. She is described as a 5-foot-6-inch tall black female of about 145 pounds with brown hair and eyes. Police are now searching for the Delaware mom and believe that she may be in danger, if she has not already been harmed.

There has been no report as to whether the arrested dad has told police anything about what might have happened to the mother of his children, or why she is still missing 24 hours after he was taken in custody and his two kids recovered safely from his SUV.

If anyone has any information in reference to this incident they are asked to contact Sergeant David L. Weaver at Troop 3 at 302-741-2728 or by utilizing the Delaware State Police Mobile Crime Tip Application. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
